Tending the Creative Muse + Daily Practice

Tending the Creative Muse + Daily Practice

Have you felt a yearning to explore the creative voice as it moves through you in the form of visual art and writing? What I have found in over 20 years of tending the muse is that a regular creative practice is key. Like, daily practice. Just as we brush our teeth, eat breakfast, and sleep with regularity, so too can we weave in the tending of our creative heart.

Many of us carry wounds from childhood and school-age when we were told that our creative expression wasn’t “good enough.” Such judgement fuels the inner critic and often stifles the natural flow of our soul through mediums such as paints, music, and words. When we devote time to slowly nurturing this voice, practicing our chosen mediums, and even sharing our creations with others, we begin to unveil a part of ourselves that is both unfamiliar and like an old friend who we’ve known forever.

If you have navigated the rite of passage of becoming a mother, join me in Adorning the Heart of the Mother, which begins on Wednesday, August 16. We will be tending to the creative flow, weaving in the theme of our motherhood journey as a muse for our creative expression.
