Join Melissa for a beautiful painting ritual to honor the earth's Cycles of the Wheel. Lughnasadh is halfway between Solstice and Equinox, and is a time of beginning to harvest the fruits of the seeds we have planted in the spring! Everything is bursting with ripeness and readiness. We will celebrate this energy of Abundance in a guided painting ritual.
I will open the ritual with speaking about the energy of Lughnasadh / Lúnasa / Lammas. I will read some inspirational and relevant poetry. I will then guide us on a drum journey, where we will connect with our heart and collect inspiration for our paintings. We will then do a painting/art ritual to express and mark what was learned within.
This ritual is a way for you to reclaim the ability honor the cycles of the earth with creative acts. If it has been a while since you have connected to your creativity, this ritual can also be a beautiful way for you to reclaim that connection. It is a gift to yourself, to connect in this embodied way.
When we paint in ceremony, the painting and the act of painting itself become this incredible alchemy of manifestation. We bring the unseen to the seen.
Each participant will create their own intuitive painting to have as a piece for meditation, contemplation, and activation on their altar, in their home, or to be burned, buried, or whatever feels best to each individual.
All you need are some watercolors (or other art supplies that you enjoy), some watercolor paper or a journal that can handle water, a brush, and some water (preferably spring or wild water if available). It's also recommended to bring a flower with you, for support during your painting process.
