Painting Seeds in the Temple of the Heart

The Equinox is a perfect time to cultivate presence and balance in our being. I am offering a special Equinox painting ritual, a recording that you can do anytime that works for you around the Equinox portal. It is to welcome balance in your life, and to mirror the creative energy of this time of year into a creative act. 

If you live in the Northern Hemisphere, the spring energy is building, the sap is rising, the plants are waking up, and soft flowers and leaves begin to emerge. We begin to wake up internally, in our hearts, in our bodies. The sun is shining more, the days get longer and longer. We begin to dream about what seeds we are going to plant for the coming year, in our gardens and in our hearts. 

In the Southern Hemisphere, the autumn arrives, and with it is the time of harvest. We get to observe the seeds that we planted in the spring, how we tended to them, what grew and what didn’t emerge, what went wild and what we cultivated with attention and focus. We can harvest these fruits, and feel them in our hands. We begin to look forward to the winter, and to evaluate what we want to carry with us. 

No matter where on Earth you live, this ritual is a beautiful invitation to you to tend to the balance within. I will guide us through a meditation with my voice and a drum. We will contemplate the seeds we are going to plant/harvest. We will connect with the temple of the heart, feeling into our center. We will dream into what balance looks like for us, and will paint an artifact of this process in a guided painting ritual. Guided by poetry and intention, this will be the foundation that you can do anytime for the new moon, seasonal shifts, or when you feel the need.

All you need is a piece of watercolor paper, some watercolors and a brush, a jar of water, and a representation of the season (perhaps a fresh flower or a ripe fruit, depending on where you live).

This ritual comes in the form of a recorded video of me performing the ceremony and guiding the art exercise. You will be able to do the ritual as many times as you like in your own time.
