rainbow serpent

I painted this serpent to honor the return of my moon for the first time since my pregnancy / birth experience. She emerged as I was teaching a class about the colors of the rainbow, and I am so moved by her form. She is alive in movement, writhing in pure delight at the sensation of her belly upon the earth. She knows when to shed her skin, and trusts in the perfect timing of her body.
