birthing portal owl healing

this is a very special piece, painted in devotion to the miracle of birth, and also for the tender time of postpartum healing :: 

we see a baby owl at the bottom left, being called to move through the birthing portal, and it's form shifts as it moves through, listening to the call of divine timing.

this painting also signifies a rite of passage or birthing process of any kind! any time we go through a metamorphosis from one stage to another, it is important to honor the process we have gone through and to be with such a transformation to it's conclusion and inevitable rebirth into a new phase.

this painting gives voice to the important to listening to the call beyond the unknown, leading us along our path. the owl on top is listening to such a call. 

this painting is infused with healing from my own journey. I found that the birthing process brought up unresolved trauma from earlier in my life, and part of becoming a mother has been a tending to what was unresolved. birth helped me to be more embodied, and one year later I am seeing that :)

this piece may also give courage and strength to anyone who is about to give birth.
