Intuitive Painting Course Fall 2024

Five week course! 60 minutes per class.  Choose which one fits your flow. All online via Zoom so you can join from anywhere!

Join Melissa for an exploration of art as an intuitive practice. We will discover the joy and expanding wonder of painting with watercolors. This class is for experienced and beginning watercolor artists alike!

This class is a five week / five lesson journey into the realm of intuition, creativity, and inspiration. We will connect with the childlike wonder of color and form through the medium of watercolor.

If you have been wanting to commune with your artistic nature, the present moment is a perfect time to do so! This course explores painting with watercolors as a way to listen to your inner guidance and wisdom. We will also paint to communicate with the elements, the colors of the rainbow, the plant and animal kingdoms, and our bodies.

Each of the five sessions are one hour in length and will provide a meditative space for you to be present with your breath and your body, moving color onto the page through your heart. Throughout the course, there is an invitation to progressively deepen your connection to your daily art practice, and after five weeks you will have a solid foundation upon which to fly from. 

This is not necessarily a class for learning specific techniques such as painting a perfect portrait or an exact landscape. You will however have plenty of opportunities to glean new inspiration and to follow your own intuitive guidance. We will explore a bit of color theory, and I will definitely share some of the painting and creativity techniques that I love.

In addition, each class is stock full of inspiration and prompts for your own deeper journeys. On top of that, every class video will come with a weekly inspiration email with further suggestions and painting prompts. Painting in the container of community is a deep way to connect with the great heart that connects us all.

Recordings of each of the five classes will be available for 30 days after each session, so you will have ample time to revisit them if you like.

As a celebratory bonus, I am including access to a special video that I created called The Inner Critic + The Creative Stream, which contemplates our relationship with the inner critic and different hurdles that can come up on the creative journey, as well as inspiration to overcome them. Access to this class will be sent with the preparation email a few days before class begins.

Materials Needed (not included in class fee):

a set of watercolors (or other art supplies that you like)

a paintbrush (if using watercolors)

watercolor paper or a journal with paper that can accept watercolor

a pencil or pen

A recording if you can't make it live (recording will be live for 30 days after the class)
