this painting is in tribute to the incredible process of birth :: the body's inherent wisdom to guide such a profound transformation :: the baby's innate knowing of when the time is ripe is signified by the bird at the bottom of the egg, poking it's beak out of the placenta

mother and baby owl wear crowns which bear resemblance to an Egyptian eye :: this represents their connection to each other and the trust in the guidance of higher and divine :: they each have long green ears that represent their open listening capacity to hear the most subtle of intuition :: they are held in a soft rainbow egg shape, which represents the placenta :: in my experience of pregnancy, not only was my baby in a placenta, but I was in a sort of energetic placenta that kept me protected and held in my own field, somewhat separate from the world around me. 

this painting is perfect for a pregnancy gift to remind of the protection and intuitive magic of such a time :: it can also be a perfect focus for the end of pregnancy, to meditate upon this image and cultivate a sense of internal trust for the divine timing of the birth :: it can also be a lovely post-birth meditation piece, to be reminded of that precious time shared between mama and baby.
